I love Brisbane in Winter;
yellow pompoms and silver foliage
blue skies
citrus in abundance
bare frangipani trees
birthday breakfasts
woolen snuggles
dappled light
reading in the afternoon sun, a rusty tin roof against the sky
orange cascade
snowflake flowers
party banners
pass the parcel on a picnic rug
gum blossum buds
wattle like baby corn
a sunny morning coffee spot
yellow gold
a local orchard, a shedding tree
glorious sunsets

Portraits in May

week 18 Week 18: Playing with his bus with Grandad week 19 Mothers Day Week 19: Cute bear bottom boy 'Washing up' in cousin Noa's kitchen (which my clever sister Kirsty re-purposed). week 20 b Week 20: Helping mum in the garden. week 21 Week 21: Climbing fun at the playground. The (adorable/controversial/versatile/filthy) brown tights feature again. week 22 b Week 22: Boyboy has 5 teeth now!

I quite like doing the whole month together like this. *This post is part of the 52 project: a portrait of Ignatius, once a week, every week, in 2013.*

farmers market fresh

rhubarb-apples-fennel-bulb

I visited the Northey St Organic Market (a few weeks ago now) and came home with some goodies: chocolate mint, a fennel bulb, rhubarb, apples, beautiful bright zinnias (some raw milk and two big blocks of beeswax to make my own candles!). After a few days in water the mint had enough roots to plant out. I dried the rest to make some chocolate mint tea. Mmmm.
