I'm thankful

pumpkin-pieces I have SOOOO much to be thankful for. And Thanksgiving is a wonderful reason to celebrate with friends and name those things. I have so much abundance and richness in my life. An abundance of good people, family and friends. An abundance of good food. A lovely husband. An adorable son and a great God! Last weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving. We enjoyed some local harvests including my first pumpkin pie - which I determined to make from scratch in protest to canned pumpkin. I just love this poem. I followed this pumpkin pie recipe, making the base as well.

  1. He IS adorable. Such a cutie!
And good on you for protesting canned pumpkin. I'd never heard of such a thing till I started poking around US blogs. I was horrified at it's existence. :)

  2. Isn't he? Just a little bias of course. I know Lauren, about the pumpkin. I find canned pumpkin especially absurd considering REAL fresh pumpkins are in season at this time of year, and thanksgiving is traditionally a celebration to thank God for the recent harvest. So sad how traditions get obscured and people forget why they are doing what they are doing.
